The remnants of what is now tropical depression Nicole are expected to bring quite a bit of rain to New Brunswick.
Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for southern and central regions of the province.
The national weather agency says heavy rain is expected to begin over western New Brunswick on Friday night and in eastern regions by early Saturday morning.
“Rainfall rates will be high with this system until the rain tapers to showers or drizzle Saturday evening,” said the statement.
Between 50 and 70 millimetres of rain could fall in areas under the rainfall warning, according to Environment Canada.
Meanwhile, a special weather statement has been issued for the northern half of New Brunswick, where between 30 and 50 millimetres of rain is possible.
Strong northeasterly winds, potentially gusting up to 90 kilometres per hour, are expected along the Bay of Chaleur coastline on Saturday.
