Remembrance Day Ceremonies Set for District

Remembrance Day ceremonies are planned in several communities in the Rainy River District tomorrow.

The Fort Frances Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29 will hold ceremonies at the Fort Frances Cenotaph beginning at 11 a.m.

The Royal Canadian Legion General Lipsett Branch 99 will hold several ceremonies.

It will begin in Emo at 11 a.m., followed by Devlin at noon, Barwick at 1:30 p.m. and Stratton at 2 p.m.

The Emo Legion will also hold a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. and a dinner at 5 p.m.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 54 in Rainy River holds its ceremony at 10:45 a.m.

There will be a luncheon to follow and a dinner at 5:30 p.m.

There are also ceremonies planned at Rainy River First Nations beginning at 2:45 p.m. and at Couchiching First Nation at 10:45 a.m. in the morning.

The United Native Friendship Centre will hold an Honouring Our Veterans Powwow at Couchiching’s Multi-use facility.

The doors open at 3 p.m. with a light meal at 5 p.m. and the Grand Entry at 6 p.m.
