New Council to be Sworn-in November 21

Fort Frances Mayor-elect Andrew Hallikas, shown being sworn into office as a councillor on Dec. 2018, will officially assume his new role on Nov. 21.

A new Fort Frances council will officially be sworn into office on Monday, November 21.

The ceremony for Mayor-elect Andrew Hallikas and the six councillors will take place at the Civic Centre.

It will also be broadcast online through Microsoft Teams.

The final meeting of the current council takes place on Monday.

The town is also advertising to fill several advisory committees that make recommendations to council.

Those terms are also four years.
