A man with a sword has been arrested after reports he was checking cars in the Fairview area.

Police say around 3:30 a.m. a caller reported the 22-year-old pulled out a sword when someone asked him what he was doing.

The man ran away but was caught with the help of a dog team.

He several charges including assault with a weapon.
