More Nova Scotians will get help to make necessary repairs and adaptations to their homes. The province is investing an additional $5.3 million in a variety of programs to address increased demand for support, an investment that will help 300 additional households.

Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister John Lohr says affordable housing is at a crisis point in the province and the cost of making home repairs continues to rise. Since more and more Nova Scotians need help making repairs to their homes, this investment will provide assistance to people sooner and allow them to continue living safely in their homes.

Assistance is limited to urgent emergency repairs or necessary repairs and upgrades that improve health and safety and extend the life of the property.
