A fundraiser for Yarmouth’s cancer centre wraps up this weekend.

‘Pink in the Rink’ is on at Yarmouth Junior A Mariner games in the month of October.

The team will once again wear special pink jerseys on Friday and Saturday, and bids can be placed on them.

Mariners co-owner and assistant coach Jared Purdy says it’s been extremely successful.

“We’re up to nearly $4,000 with the auctioning of the jerseys alone. We are going to hit our $10,000 goal, which is absolutely wonderful.” says Purdy.

He says sponsorships and sales on a gift basket will help them reach their goal.

“It feels great to be able to support our own local community with cancer research. It is a community effort and we appreciate all the support.

All proceeds go to the Edwin Janke Cancer Centre at Yarmouth Regional Hospital.

The Mariners take on the Bearcats tomorrow night and the Lumberjacks on Saturday.
