Yarmouth’s Communities in Bloom was honoured last week in B.C.

The Town of Yarmouth was awarded 5 Blooms – Gold at the 2022 National/International Symposium and Awards Ceremonies for all the work done to beautify the town.

Chair of Communities in Bloom Yarmouth and town councilor Heather Hatfield is thanking everyone who pitched in.

“We say it’s work, but it’s not really work for everyone who takes part in it,” says Hatfield “It’s just something that people want to do, they want to make the town shine and we did just that, we made it shine.”

Hatfield says the ceremonies were great for networking and discussed what she too away from them.

“We have a lot more than we think we do. Sometimes we tend to think that we’re a small town and that we may not have as much as the larger places have or work as well together,” says Hatfield. “What we learned when we left there was that we really have it together here.”

The town also won an outstanding achievement award for landscaping and the Main Street streetscape project got a special mention.
