A 37-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a weekend shooting in Dartmouth.
Halifax Regional Police were called to the area of Portland Street and Portland Hills Drive at around 5:30 Sunday morning.
A 27-year-old woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Five men were arrested at the scene.
Spencer Sinclair Thompson is facing a long list of charges:
• Attempted murder
• Assault with a weapon
• Aggravated assault
• Use of a firearm in the commission of an offence
• Discharge firearm with intent
• Careless use of a firearm
• Possession of a loaded prohibited weapon
• Carrying a concealed firearm
• Unsafe storage contrary to regulations x 2
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 2
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm x 2
• Possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized x 2
• Possession of a firearm contrary to firearm prohibition x 6
Twenty-four-year-old Durrell Samuel Diggs has been charged with various firearms-related offences.
