93.1 The Border is asked candidates running for election a few questions about the reasons behind their decision to run.

Ken Wilson is a candidate seeking to become a councillor with the township of Chapple.

Here are the answers to the questions we asked.

Why are you running for office?

For all of my adult life, I have been actively committed to our community. I still believe I can contribute to its betterment.

What are the main issues do you see your community facing over the next four years?

Maintain and improve existing infrastructure in the face of dwindling provincial funding and rising social costs.

How would you tackle those issues?

Devote my efforts to looking after Chapple’s back door. Strive for efficiency in all areas of operation. Do all of the little things right. Take advantage of grants (provincial and federal) where applicable.

What qualities or qualifications can you bring to the position?

Forty years of involvement with our township. I have served as recreation volunteer, part-time employee with roads, public utilities, town maintenance and several terms as councillor. I know where we were, what we accomplished, and where we have struggled. I would hope my experience is an asset to our township.
