Four N.B. Cities Make Rattiest List In Atlantic Canada

By Allan Dearing Oct 21, 2022 | 6:00 AM

A national pest control company has unveiled the top 15 rattiest cities in Atlantic Canada for 2022.

In New Brunswick, Moncton ranked second followed by Dieppe in third place, Saint John sat in fifth spot while Shediac was 12th on the list.

St. John’s, Newfoundland was number one in the Atlantic region for rat problems.

As pandemic fears wane and food sources return to normal, Orkin Canada said the rodent population has grown with sightings and activity increasing.

The company reminds homeowners and businesses to take precautions to help keep rodents out as winter rolls in.

Prevention tips include sealing cracks and trimming trees around your home, keeping your property clean and eliminating water sources like clogged gutters.

Toronto had the biggest rodent problem nationwide and Moncton ranked 15th but was the only New Brunswick city to crack the top 25 in Canada.
