A cabinet shuffle in New Brunswick following the resignation of Dominic Cardy as education and early childhood development minister.

Bill Hogan, a former teacher and principal at Woodstock High School, will take over Cardy’s portfolio. The political newcomer had been serving as public safety minister since early 2021.

Former People’s Alliance leader Kris Austin will assume the public safety portfolio. He crossed the floor to join the Progressive Conservatives in late March.

Jill Green leaves transportation and infrastructure to become Service New Brunswick minister and minister responsible for Housing.

Jeff Carr returns to cabinet as minister of transportation and infrastructure. He served as environment and local government minister from 2018 to 2020.

Newly-elected MLA Réjean Savoie becomes the minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation, a portfolio previously held by Gary Crossman, who will remain as environment and climate change minister.
