A 61-year-old Ontario man has died in a two-vehicle collision in Shediac Cape.

On Friday around 3:30 p.m., Shediac RCMP responded to a collision between a car and a pickup truck with a trailer at the intersection of Route 134 and Service Road in Shediac Cape.

Police say a passenger of the car died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

The driver and two other passengers of the car, all from Ontario, were taken to hospital.

Police say two had potentially serious non-life threatening injuries and one had potentially life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries.

Mounties believe the driver of the car came to a stop at a stop sign on Service Road and then turned left on Route 134 in front of the truck and trailer.

The driver of the truck was unable to stop in time and hit the car.

Ambulance New Brunswick, Shediac Fire Department and an RCMP collision reconstructionist also attended the scene.

A member of the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office is assisting with the ongoing investigation.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the man’s exact cause of death.
