OPP in Sioux Lookout are appealing to the public for assistance as they investigate an assault with a weapon which occurred almost a month ago in the community.

In a release police say on September 9th around 10pm officers responded to an assault in progress on Lakeshore Drive. Once on scene they, along with paramedics, located and assisted one victim in medical distress.

No details on the status of the victim have been released.
