Nova Scotians impacted by the hurricane are now able to apply for financial support online.

Applications are open to obtain $100 for those that lost power for at least 48 hours, to cover the cost of spoiled food,

$250 to cover tree removal costs, and $1000 per household for those ordered to leave their homes or for those that can’t return to their homes. An additional $250 has been added to the seniors care grant to help with storm repairs.

There is also a small business hurricane relief program offering a one time grant of $2500 to offset the cost of business closures. To be eligible, businesses must have stopped operating due to Hurricane Fiona for at least five days between September 23rd and October 7th

Premier Tim Houston says the province will continue to do everything they can to support Nova Scotians in need.

More information on applying for this funding can be found at: Nova Scotia Hurricane Support
