A damaged oTentik (Fundy NP/Facebook)

Cleanup Underway At Fundy National Park

By Allan Dearing Sep 28, 2022 | 3:52 PM

Staff at Fundy National Park have been hard at work cleaning up after Fiona hit over the weekend.

Park officials say impacts from the storm included downed trees, damaged power lines and high water levels.

Debris and fallen trees have blocked roads and as a result the following are now closed: Herring Cove, Point Wolfe and Laverty Roads.

Chignecto campground has closed early for the season where oTENTiks and washroom facilities were damaged.

The golf course and river crossings are also closed.

While some trails are inaccessible and other parts of the park remain open, visitors are asked to exercise caution and plan accordingly.

Staff are still assessing damage in more remote areas of the park.

The trail network is being updated online.
