The Saint John Alpines now have a 2-0 lead in the senior baseball final.

Saint John edged the Fredericton Royals 3-2 on Tuesday in game two of the best-of-seven series.

Ryan Nason went the distance on the mound, picking up the win. Mark Legere’s solo home run in the fifth scored the winning run.

Game three is scheduled for Wednesday night at Memorial Field in Saint John at 7:30 p.m.

Another Sea Dogs game postponed

As the clean-up continues from Fiona, another game for the Saint John Sea Dogs has been postponed.

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League said Friday night’s game at Charlottetown will now take place on Nov. 2.

Saint John’s home opener against Acadie-Bathurst on Sept. 24 was also postponed due to the storm. It has been rescheduled for Feb. 12.
