Rainy River Voyageurs women’s volleyball team scored a three-game win over Oak Hills College Wolfpack from Bemidji.

Scores were 25-23, 25-12 and 25-8.

Cara Polk paced the Voyageurs with 28 set assists, and five ace serves.

Sister Cyra chipped in with 12 digs.

Kaitlyn Stavish had seven kills, one ace serve and one ace block

Maddie Lowe registered six kills, three ace serves and one ace block.

 

The NorWOSSA season begins today for the Rainy River Owls.

They play Pelican Falls in junior and senior boys’ volleyball.

 

In International Falls yesterday, the Broncos’ junior football defeated Lake of the Woods 46-8.

The varsity girls’ volleyball team swept Hibbing in three games.

Scores were 25-9, 25-16 and 25-21.

Madison Wille led the team with 17 kills and three ace blocks.

Bella Wille added seven kills.

Lola Valenzuela served up four aces and had three kills.

Gracie Swenson had six kills and nine digs.

Aubrey Pavleck recorded six digs and 13 set assists.

Kale Taylor had ten assists, while Karsen Korpi joined in with ten digs.

In other games, the Broncos junior varsity team lost to Hibbing, 25-22, 25-12.

The C Team won two games to one by scores of 19-25, 26-24, and 15-9.

The Grade 8 team won two straight, 25-22 and 25-15, while the Grade 7s won 25-20 and 25-23 over Hibbing.
