By Katie Nicholls Sep 27, 2022 | 9:21 AM

After being open for more than 100 years a local institution is closing it’s doors.

Brent Park Store announced that they will be shuttering the doors Nov. 12. after being in operation for 113 years in business in Thunder Bay.

Owner, Paul Trevisanutto released a statement;

In February 2020, just prior to the Covid pandemic, the store moved from its original Brent Street location to a larger location at 106 High St. North (the corner of Van Norman). But after 113 years, the store will be closing on November 12th.

Current owner Paul Trevisanutto who had worked at the store since 2012 and later purchased the store in 2014 from the Willmann family, said the decision to close is a difficult one.

“We made the move just as the pandemic was shutting down businesses, and although we were able to serve more customers in the new location, it simply wasn’t enough to continue”.

Trevisanutto admits inflation and supply chain had been difficult over the past year, with many of the specialty products their regular customers count on were becoming more difficult to bring in.

The store will close be selling off its remaining inventory and fixtures until its closing date of Nov. 12, 2022.
