Schools in the Fort Frances area are doing their part for cancer research.

Several held their Terry Fox Runs on Friday.

Students at Fort Frances High School turned their run into a colour run.

They were asked to complete five laps around the high school track.

At various stages, teachers were positioned with boxes of colour chalk that was thrown at the students as they walked or ran sport.

Emma Bodnarchuck says it was a fun way to take part in an important cause.

“It brings almost a lighter version. I remember all throughout middle school and elementary we would run around like our friends. When we got here, the colour run brings a different activity. It makes kids almost want to run more laps,” says Bodnarchuk

The goal was also to raise at least one thousand dollars through student donations.

When students reached their last year, a teacher agreed to have their head shaved.

It was not certain if a teacher had agreed to do that this year.
