Conversations and planning are well underway as Saint John Energy prepares for the impacts of Fiona.

President and CEO Ryan Mitchell said several meetings have already taken place ahead of the storm’s arrival in our region.

“We also have someone who is the head of our Emergency Operations Response Team, so there have been a number of meetings already to date to make sure we have supplies, equipment, and staff lined up,” Mitchell said on Thursday.

Mitchell said they are also in touch with other electric utilities throughout the region.

“Just making sure they are available to come and help us and we would be available to help them if one of our neighbouring utilities has an issue they need support for,” Mitchell said.

Mitchell said if New Brunswick is not as severely impacted, they could send crews to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island to help.
