Higher food prices might have you thinking twice before tossing groceries into your cart.

A new report out of Dalhousie University has found nearly three out of four Canadians have made significant changes to how they shop.

Almost a quarter say they’re cutting back on the amount of food they buy.

Others said they’re using more loyalty program points to pay for groceries or relying on flyers to scope out deals.

Atlantic Canada has the highest percentage of people buying food nearing its expiration date at 29 percent.

Canada’s food inflation rate has been around 10% since May.
