School Bus Involved In ‘Minor’ Collision: RCMP

By Brad Perry Sep 20, 2022 | 11:56 AM

No injuries were reported after a minor collision between a school bus and a car in the Rothesay area.

Mounties say it happened on Route 1 westbound near the Campbell Drive exit around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Sgt. Tyson Nelson with Hampton RCMP said the highway was backed up due to construction at the time.

Nelson said a bus with 16 students on board was driving on the shoulder of the highway to reach the exit when a car pulled out in front of it.

There was no damage to the bus and only “minor, minor” damage to the car, he said, adding that both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.

Nelson said he does not believe any charges will be laid in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson for the Francophone South School District confirmed that one of its buses was involved in the collision.

Jean-Luc Thériault said the bus has since returned to service.
