Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon is now the highest paid player in the NHL.

The Cole Harbour, N.S., native signed an eight-year contract worth $100 million.

He’ll make an average of $12.6 million, higher than Connor MacDavid of Edmonton.

MacKinnon hosted a massive party in downtown Halifax last month to celebrate his first Stanley Cup.
