The Weekender: The Return Of The Yarmouth Mariners

By Kevin Northup Sep 10, 2022 | 10:00 AM

In this week’s edition of The Weekender, the Yarmouth Mariners begin the regular season next weekend. Who’s coming back, what new players can the fans look forward to watching, and what’s new at Mariners Centre this year? We cover it all with Head Coach and GM Laurie Barron.

The Yarmouth and Acadian Shores Tourism Association is excited over a busy summer in our region for tourism. Neil MacKenzie stops by to give his take.

And, the Yarmouth County Hospice Society has a fundraiser at the end of the month. We chat with Shirley Hubbard of the society and Wendy Siddal from the Catch 22 Comedy Crew, who are performing at the event.

The Weekender is an award-winning news program produced by Y95 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. The show tells the stories of the Tri-Counties – in-depth interviews, background stories, looks at the local entertainment and music scenes and so much more. It is our finger on the pulse of the region that includes Yarmouth, Digby, and Shelburne.

There are now many ways to listen to the program. It originally airs Saturday at 9 a.m. on 95.5 CJLS in Yarmouth, 93.5 in Digby, and 96.3 in Shelburne.
