Nova Scotia’s leader of the opposition is sharing his thoughts on the strike by daycare workers.

Zach Churchill says early childhood educators have run out of patience with the province.

“Under these inflationary pressures everyone is experiencing right now, that’s going to put pressure on underpaid ECE’s to look for work elsewhere and we need them to provide childcare spaces for our kids and working families.”

Churchill says the province has a pattern of waiting until the last minute to do things.

“I think we have a very reactive government that cares more about what they’re reading in the headlines than what they’re doing and I think that’s leading to these delays and last minute decisions that they’re making.”

He points to the recently rejected climate plan as another example.
