A well-known Dartmouth rapper is dead after a stabbing on Lower Water Street.

Halifax Regional Police confirm the man killed is 36-year-old Pat Stay.

Officers found him injured on the Halifax waterfront early Sunday morning.

He was taken to hospital where he later died.

A GoFundMe has been organized and has surpassed $100,000 in funds raised for his family.

Tributes have been pouring in all over social media, Eminem (Marshall Mathers) called Stay one of the best battle rappers of all time in a Tweet on Sunday night.

“hiphop lost one of the best battlers of all time … RIP @patstay .. KINGS NEVER DIE‼️”

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to contact police at 902-490-5020.
