A new school year begins today.

Students are not in class, but their teachers are.

They are reporting to their schools for a professional development day.

It is one of seven scattered throughout the school year.

Teachers get tomorrow and Monday off before rejoining with students for the start of classes on Tuesday.

Students and staff will not be required to wear a mask this year, but wearing one will not be discouraged.
