A soft opening for the new Yarmouth Splash Park will take place this weekend.

The public is invited to stop by the Mariner’s Centre from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday to test the park out.

Splash Park Committee Chair Linda Gallagher thanked the community for supporting the project.

“We know that the community is anxious to see it and we’re anxious for everyone to have an opportunity to experience it.”

However Gallagher says there’s still some work to be done.

“There’s the landscaping around it, we will have three picnic tables there but other seating is coming and we’re putting in a walkway that will make the washrooms accessible.”

They’re also going to be adding fencing and structures to provide shade.

Gallagher says committee members will be there to answer any questions visitors might have.

Visitors are asked to park in the general parking area of the Mariners Centre.
