A murder investigation is underway in East Preston.

RCMP were called to a report of a suspicious car on Highway 7 shortly before 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police say there was a body in the vehicle and the death is being investigated as a homicide by the Major Crime Unit.

Investigators believe the man was targeted and there is no risk to the public.

Police have not said how he died or released his name.
