The Town of Bridgewater was named as one of 15 recipients of the latest round of funding from the Provincial Capital Assistance Program (PCAP).

PCAP is designed to provide support towards the cost of high-priority municipal infrastructure projects. Generally, the program prioritizes projects that reduce or eliminate health or environmental problems within the municipality.

In the case of Bridgewater, $140,000 has been awarded to help with upgrades to the town’s wastewater facility located on King Street.

The project will ensure the area is equipped with modern, separated wastewater and stormwater infrastructure, which will ease the burden on the town’s existing system.

“I’m pleased that Bridgewater will benefit from this funding,” says Lunenburg West MLA Becky Druhan. “This infrastructure enables future growth and development in our area, and protects the health of the Lahave River.”
