Yesterday morning, the Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a report of a deceased person found in a wooded area in Caribou Marsh, south of Sydney.
On arrival, officers noted a parked vehicle near the deceased that they confirmed belonged to Edwin Christmas and was the vehicle he was reported to be driving when he was last seen on August 10th.
The deceased has been referred to the medical examiner’s office for positive identification. There is no evidence to indicate foul play as a factor in the cause of death.
The Cape Breton Regional Police stated that their thoughts remain with the family of the deceased during this difficult time.
