For police in the Kennebecasis Valley, August is ending how it started.
Members of the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force arrested six alleged impaired drivers over the weekend.
In a tweet on Sunday afternoon, Const. Ryan Walker noted some people are not getting the message so the police will be there to remind them.
The force has arrested 33 people for impaired driving so far this month compared to five during the same month last year, marking a 560 per cent increase.
So far this year, 94 drivers have been arrested for impaired driving compared to 67 at this time last year.
On Twitter, the force said keeping roads safe is a “strategic priority” for them.
KRPF points out they can’t do it alone so, they encourage members of the general public to call 911 and report suspected drunk driving when they see it happening.
Another busy night for the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force removing 6 more impaired drivers off the roadways. Some just aren’t getting the message so we will be there to remind them.
