An 18-year-old has been charged after a string of sexual assaults in the Bedford area this month.

Police say there have been nine incidents of a man sexually assaulting or criminally harassing women.

They happened August 9th through the 26th in the area of Kearney Lake Dam Trail, Broad Street, and a trail near Amesbury Gate.

“In each case, a man approached a woman who was not known to him and touched her in a sexual manner or criminally harassed her,” the news release says.

Mohammad Jamal Shned Al-Dulaimi has been charged with seven counts of criminal harassment and six counts of sexual assault.

“It is important for victims of sexual assault to know that we are here to help,” police say. “As part of our victim-centered, trauma-informed approach to sexualized violence, we work closely with victims and ensure their privacy is upheld and well-being is fully considered. We encourage anyone who has been sexually assaulted or harassed to reach out to police.”

Al-Dulaimi was scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court Monday.
