More than a million jobs are waiting to be filled in Canada.

It is the third straight month the number has been that high.

Statistics Canada says job vacancies increased by 3.2 per cent in June, bringing the overall rate to 5.9 per cent.

Food services, health care and retail are each looking for more than 100 thousand workers.

The service industry has vacancies for more than 170 thousand employees.
