Police revealed the details of an undercover operation targeting the unlawful sale of cannabis from fourteen illegal dispensaries in Saint John.

The operation included the Saint John Police and Kennebecasis Regional Police Force Integrated Street Crime Unit and the New Brunswick Justice and Public Safety Department.

It started in December 2021.

After undercover operators established the illegal sale of cannabis under the Cannabis Control Act, property owners were told the unlawful activity must stop.

Police said of the fourteen locations targeted, only one storefront remains open and it’s the subject of on-going court proceedings.

A news release on Thursday said the Saint John Police and the New Brunswick Justice and Public Safety Department will keep investigating the sale of cannabis from illegal dispensaries.
