The communities of Herman’s  Island and Maders Cove will be pleased to hear the Houston government is making a major investment in repairing the two main roads that service them.

Hermans Island Road and Maders Cove Road will receive $697,107 for maintenance and upgrades. Dexter Construction Co. has been tendered to deliver the improvements.

Work on Maders Cove Road will focus on approximately 1.95 kilometres between Hermans Island Road and Westhaver Road for slope failure repair. Hermans Island Road will see patchwork on a stretch between Princess Inlet Road to Maders Cove Road, approximately 1.40 kilometres.

“These repairs will make travelling to and from our community safer for residents, I’m eager to see it happen,” said MLA Corkum-Greek.

No word yet on when the work is expected to begin.
