The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation has released its latest quarterly report which shows another strong four months of sales.

The quarter which ran from April to July saw the NSLC do $219.4 million in sales, which represents a 3.6 per cent increase from the same period last year.

Nova Scotian-made products were once again a major source growth with most categories seeing another quarter of major growth including; wine (24.0 per cent to $4.1 million), beer (up 13.5 per cent to $7.6 million) and spirits ( up 6.0 per cent to $2.9 million).

Nova Scotian ready-to-drink cocktails did however see a very small decline in sales, dropping by 0.1 per cent. Though that shouldn’t be a major concern as that product category has enjoyed massive growth in the past few years.

In the first quarter of 2018 (prepandemic) Nova Scotian ready-to-drink products totaled $1.3 million in sales, this latest quarter they sold $8.7 million.

Also bolstering sales was the addition of five new cannabis locations which include; Guysborough, Meteghan, New Germany, Spryfield, and Springfield.

The NSLC has noted that this year’s quarter included three additional operating days compared to last year due to how the calendar fell this year.
