The impressive summer of Sarah Mitton continued this weekend with her adding another gold medal to her trophy cabinet, this time at the North American, Central American, and Caribbean championships (NACAC).

Coming off her gold medal win earlier in August at the Commonwealth Games, Mitton was able to earn this gold in much less dramatic fashion.

With her third of six throws, Mitton launched the shot 20.15 metres, the second furthest Mitton has ever thrown in competition. Her competition failed to come close with the runner-up throwing 1.33 metres less.

This win marks Mitton’s third gold medal of the summer, adding to her Commonwealth and Canadian National titles. She also has set the Canadian national outdoor record twice in the past year, as well as claiming the indoor record.

Mitton will next compete at the upcoming Diamond League event in Zurich, Switzerland.
