By Randy Thoms Aug 22, 2022 | 9:05 AM

The Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce is preparing to honour the area’s best.

It is holding its business awards on September 29 at La Place Rendez-Vous.

Executive Director Heather Johnson says it is also the 25th year for the awards.

“We have some little surprises to have throughout the night to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We had such a great turnout last year and wonderful nominations, and we are just hoping to expand on that this year. Let’s just really get out there and celebrate our community for all the wonderful businesses and people that are taking care of us on a day-to-day basis,” says Johnson.

There are ten awards to be given out.

“We have Business Woman of the Year, Customer Service ward for business, Customer Service award for individual, Home-based business, Small Business Trainer of the Year, New Business award, that’s for a business that’s been open one to three years. We have Business of the Year, 1 to 15 employees, Business of the Year,16-plus employees. We have Indigenous Business of the Year and our ever-popular Test of Time award, and that’s for a business that has been in business for 25 years or more,” says Johnson.

Nominations for awards are now accepted, with that done through the chamber’s website.
