Halifax gearing up to celebrate Nate and Stanley!

Halifax will celebrate Nathan MacKinnon taking home hockeys holy grail.

A Stanley Cup parade will take over downtown Halifax on Saturday.

MacKinnon was a key part of Colorado’s cup run and their victory over Tampa Bay.

He is set to travel past Scotiabank Centre where he played junior hockey with the Halifax Mooseheads.

The celebration will end up at Grande Parade with a Q & A with the Avalanche forward.

Location: Beginning on Albermarle Street and ending at Grand Parade

Date: Saturday, August 20

Time: 12 noon to 1 p.m.

Details: This closure is to facilitate the Nathan MacKinnon Stanley Cup parade.

Parade route on Saturday, August 22, 2022

The parade will begin on Albermarle Street, turn right onto Duke Street, turn left onto Brunswick Street, continue to Spring Garden Road, turn right on Spring Garden Road and continue to South Park Street, turn right on South Park Street and continue to Sackville Street, turn right on Sackville Street and continue to Brunswick Street, turn right on Carmichael Street, and will finish at Grand Parade.

Traffic impact: Traffic delays are expected as the parade travels through downtown Halifax. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
