Mask mandates in New Brunswick ended months ago, but many post-secondary students will still have to wear them when they head back to class this fall.

The University of New Brunswick, St. Thomas University, and Mount Allison University will require masks in many indoor settings.

They will be mandatory in classrooms and indoor common spaces, including hallways, stairwells, washrooms, and administration offices.

However, there will be some exceptions, such as when participating in theatre, music, fitness and athletics, and when seated in certain buildings on the campuses.

Instructors and students can also remove their masks when presenting in class as long as they maintain a distance of at least two metres from others.

You can see the specific requirements for each post-secondary institution by clicking its name above.

Mask use will be optional at l’Universite de Moncton, Crandall University, and the New Brunswick Community College.
