A 39-year-old man has been charged with seven offences in a drug trafficking investigation in Moncton.
Around 3:30 p.m. last Friday (August 12), Codiac RCMP intercepted a vehicle at the intersection of Assomption Boulevard and Vaughan Harvey Boulevard as part of the investigation.
A 39-year-old man was arrested without incident.
Shortly after, police executed a search warrant at a home on Savoie Drive and seized what is believed to be quantities of crystal meth, crack cocaine and fentanyl along with a loaded unsecured handgun and an unsecured rifle.
Police also seized items believed to be stolen, drug trafficking paraphernalia as well as money.

Ryan Michael Shanks of Moncton, appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Tuesday and is currently charged with:
- Two counts of unsafe storage of a firearm
- Two counts of Possession of property obtained by crime
- Unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
He was released on conditions and is scheduled to return to court on September 6.
