L.L. Bean says it will officially open its new Dieppe store on August 26.

The 13,000-square-foot store will open at CF Champlain Mall and create jobs for 20 people.

Huddle first reported the pending opening in April but this is the first time L.L. Bean has confirmed a specific opening date.

The new store will be L.L.Bean’s first location in New Brunswick and its ninth store to open in Canada.

In late 2021, the popular American clothing and outdoor supply company made its first move into the Maritimes with a new store at Dartmouth Crossing, in Halifax.

However, its Dieppe store is the first to open in Canada in 2022.

Later this year, the company plans to continue its Canadian expansion with store openings in Kitchener, Kingston, and Niagara Falls in Ontario–as well as one in Edmonton.

In 2021, the outfitter also opened four stores in Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, and the previously mentioned Halifax.

Information released by L.L. Bean says the plans for its new Canadian stores come after one of the retailer’s most successful financial years in its history.

In 2021, the company saw a 14 percent annual revenue increase as e-commerce sales grew by a fifth in Canada.

L.L. Bean was founded in 1912 in Freeport, Maine by Leon Leonwood Bean.

The family-owned outfitter operates 56 stores in 19 American States, 24 stores in Japan, and eight stores in Canada.

L.L. Bean made its first foray into the Canadian market with the 2018 launch of a Canadian e-commerce site and the opening of its first store in Oakville, Ontario in 2019.
