Firefighters from at least six departments battled a fire at G.L. Wood Products sawmill in Haute-Aboujagane on Tuesday.

Shediac Fire Captain Julien Boudreau said firefighters were called to the scene around 2:30 p.m.

Boudreau said the sawmill was significantly damaged by the blaze.

RCMP say no one was hurt.

Mounties closed Route 933 near the fire and traffic was diverted.

The sawmill has about 40 employees.

No word on what caused the fire.
