Cannabis NB opens a new store in Riverview today in Chocolate River Station on Coverdale Road.

Cannabis NB spokesperson Emilie Dow said the store follows a pop-up format but unlike a seasonal location in Saint John, it will be a longer-term location.

Dow said ten people have been hired at the new store.

Chocolate River Station is owned by Moncton-based Thrive Properties which bought the property from the Town of Riverview in 2020.

CEO John McManaman intended to demolish it and build a twin tower apartment complex on the site.

But earlier this year he said the project was on the backburner as he focused on developing other apartment buildings in the area.

“We are aware of the potential development at Chocolate River Station and will continue to work closely with the landlord over the next couple of years to ensure we can make the best decisions around our store location based on their plans,” noted Dow.

Cannabis NB now has four locations in Greater Moncton.
