The town of Fort Frances is reminding residents that the deadline for nominations for this year’s citizen of the year and outstanding youth citizen is less than two months away.

Councillor Mike Behan, a member of the selection committee, says nominees must be a resident of Fort Frances, and you can’t nominate yourself.

“Nominees should have contributed to their communities, may have performed acts of heroism or bravery, have made life better for others or may have excelled at personal achievement,” says Behan.

Nomination forms can be found on the town’s website or at the Civic Centre.

Behan says some names have been put forward.

“It’s my understanding that two nominations already have been submitted for citizen of the year. I don’t believe any have been submitted yet for outstanding youth citizens.”

The deadline for submissions is September 30.
