Week one of the Coal Shed Music Festival starts Friday.

It kicks off at 1 p.m. with the announcement of the song writing competition topic.

A children’s show with Kevin Kopp will follow, with a variety of other entertainment planned for the night and weekend.

On Saturday morning there will be a Musicians’ Flea Market for anyone looking to buy, sell or trade musical instruments and equipment.

A church service will be hosted by North Baptist Church on Sunday morning.

Over 150 performers have been booked for the festival, which is on for the next three weekends.

Admission is free and donations will be collected for breakfast and lunch school programs.
