A 42-year-old Moncton man has died after a two-vehicle collision in the city on Shediac Road, west of Harrisville Boulevard.

Codiac RCMP responded to a collision between a minivan and a utility truck shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police say the driver and only person in the minivan died at the scene of his injuries.

The driver of the utility truck was not hurt.

Police believe the minivan crossed the centre line and collided head-on with the utility truck.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist, the Moncton Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick were also called to the scene.

A section of Shediac Road was closed to traffic for several hours following the collision and a detour was set up.

The New Brunswick Coroner’s Office is involved in the investigation.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of the man’s death.
