City Council tonight will be going over recommendations from Administration regarding new safety measures for Dawson Rd/Hwy 102.

Dating back to a Council meeting on April 4th 2022, Council had requested that Administration to report back on safety improvement measures that could be taken in lieu of a Designated Truck Route.

The types of improvements that the City is recommending include a speed radar feedback sign and traffic calming paint will be installed to encourage drivers to reduce their speeds as they drive into the city. Both of which can be installed with funds from the current operational and capital budgets.

Statistics collected from the Ministry of Transportation compared the types of collisions and injury levels for Dawson Rd/Hwy 102.
