Yarmouth County Ground Search And Rescue Fundraising At Exhibition

By Kevin Northup Aug 5, 2022 | 12:12 PM

While you’re at the Exhibition, you’ll notice members of Yarmouth County Ground Search and Rescue on site.

They’re operating the parking booth and the dunk tank as a way to raise funds.

Wayne Zwicker says it’s been tough to raise funds during COVID, but their work never ends.

“Fundraising abilities stopped, and the ability to do extra training stopped, but when it’s time to put on the gear and go find somebody, we never stopped, and we never will,” says Zwicker.

Parking is two dollars per day at Mariners Centre, with all proceeds going to Ground Search and Rescue.

Local politicians will be in the dunk tank today, and first responders tomorrow.

Zwicker says you can visit their Facebook page for more information.
